RENAULT WERE BEHIND IT ALL?!

Well Alonso has been confirmed at Renault. Now I’ve been watching too many old X files episodes on TV and there have been plenty of conspiracy theories out there this season on what has gone on. Just to prove how easy it is to make this stuff up I had a go at it. So to finish off this god awful spy saga rubbish that has plagued F1 this year I came up with a theory of my own for fun. And it is made up, don’t sue me.

I believe I have just thought of how more evidence should come to light of how Renault were getting more inside info than McLaren was from Stepney.

Think about it, Back in 05 Ferrari were out of the picture struggling with the single set of tyres per race rule McLaren looked like Renaults main threat for years to come; and by the end of 05 McLaren was clearly quicker than Renault if unreliable. Other problems were that McLaren’s budget was much bigger than Renaults so how are they going to keep up? So what do you do? Easy send your best driver to infiltrate the McLaren base and steal secrets and then damage their campaign as much as possible.

Now Renault as did other teams knew Bridgestone would be the only supplier in 07 esp. after Indy gate. And with them being closest to Michelin they knew they would suffer the most so the plan was hatched.

After the Brazilian G.P. 05 Alonso went to Ron remember and said he'd love to drive for them, bang a deal was done for 07. Now, in 06 a surprise as tyre changes were brought back at the last moment. So Ferrari was back in the frame and Renault thought they had got the wrong team. But in a strange bit of luck Stepney was passing Ferrari info to McLaren wow!

So then the Renault scheme got bigger. Renault wanted to be in the top 3 for 07 but were only 4th so now what do they do? They have Alonso in place at McLaren feeding data but it’s too little too late. The 07 Renault is crap and they forgot to sack Fisichella! So everything is geared towards 08. But for now in 07? How do we get 3rd, hmmmm…

Bang a bit of luck Renault remember Stepney, chuck a bit of white powder on the red cars in Monaco and then put some in Stepney's pocket. They then spy on Coughlan whose wife is taking a 780 page Ferrari Document into a copy shop! So quickly they pay the photocopy boy and give him Maranello's number. Bang McLaren is now exposed! And the FIA will now kick out McLaren. Yes ha ha!

Well no they get a guilty but no punishment verdict. Drat! Dang and blast Renault are still 4th! So Flav brings in his Pontius Pilate comment and says that McLaren should be punished. With Ferrari pushing so hard for a McLaren punishment Renault plays a concerned hand saying it is important that spying is pushed out of F1. But this is not enough and Ferrari needs to wait on an appeal rather than the World Motor Sport Council. Time to bring in Alonso again.

Now Renault need Alonso back in 08 and the problem is Ron has a 3 year deal with their man. So phase 2 begins. Alonso starts his “not at home comments” and builds up his anger using the press against Ron and co. Cue the Hungary Pit-gate saga followed by the threat of showing Ron Dennis of Alonso having emails that incriminate McLaren. Knowing how Ron Respects his integrity they knew McLaren would tell the FIA. Max Mosley then asks the drivers for emails which Alonso and De La Rosa supply. Alonso of course sends only the ones that incriminate McLaren, Alonso destroying the other Renault evidence like all big company’s do, I mean, who usually keeps emails that are months old that you know could get you into trouble.

So then the WMSC reconvene and throw McLaren out job done Renault is guaranteed 3rd and they now have all the McLaren data they need. Now they need Alonso to get out of there fast! This is achieved easily with a bit more of bitching about McLaren. Ron knows it’s over between him and Alonso driving for the team in 09 so he decides he will let him go at the end of the season.

Now Renault need a decoy so it isn’t all to obvious so they decide to craftily throw McLaren off the scent as now McLaren are a little suspicious of Renault having found an engineer had joined Renault with some information on McLaren’s car. Difference is this was all planned by Renault anyway. They made sure their new engineer left with some floppy disks with out of date data, and seriously how much data could you take on a floppy disk? So little that in McLaren’s statement they got confused saying around 15 engineers had seen the data when really it was half than that, and then McLaren have to realize a statement that basically makes their case look very weak, as they correct their previous statement on the eve of the case. Renault knows that the FIA will see the data they had is useless and they will be found guilty but no punishment like McLaren were back in July.

Meanwhile Alonso plays a blinder of throwing the media off track by making out he is talking to Red Bull and Honda to not make it look too obvious. So after the trial when the no punishment he joins Renault again with McLaren data and some Ferrari info as well thanks to Stepney. Renault having given up mid season on their campaign because Fisi just still isn’t cutting it. They focus all their efforts to dominate 2008 and destroy all the teams.

There were little signs of this though. There are plenty of pictures where Alonso is hanging with his old team in McLaren gear and hugging Flavio that would be the start of things for McLaren. McLaren however will never find the evidence to prove this. They have another problem of being obsessed with Hamilton and trying to find a replacement for Alonso. So what is Renault going to do with Kovalainen next year, I wonder…
